Welcome to the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. Our goal is simple – to maintain a welcomed, diverse, and inclusive environment for all students, faculty, and staff. Our office is an open space for all, and we hope you will visit us on the second floor of the Student Union!
Native American Heritage or Indigenous Awareness Month is a time to celebrate, recognize, and inform the public about the cultures, traditions, histories, art, and contributions of Native Americans, Indigenous People, and their tribal history. The month was first designated in the United States in 1990. Check out the events sponsored by ODI this month.
The Multicultural Graduation Reception, held on Dec. 12, 2024, is a free hallmark event for the academic semester. In collaboration with International Student Services, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion will host families, friends, faculty, staff, and the community to celebrate graduating students from all multicultural and underrepresented backgrounds. This program will present multicultural stoles, recognition of students’ involvement, and time to reflect on their experiences at Northwest.
Hors D’ Oeuvres and Desserts will be provided.
The Northwest’s Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion Awards are given during the MLK, Jr. Peace Brunch. They were established to honor faculty, administrators, or community members for their outstanding service in keeping with Dr. King's principles and ideals. Nominate a Northwest faculty, employee, or community member whose engagement in activities helps eliminate barriers concerning people of various identities on campus or within the community.
